Over many years, I have established a broad portfolio of portrait works. Most of which are commissions and now hang proudly in private homes.
Painting or drawing people in their own environment, their home, workplace etc allows a story to be told through their setting. Although a more abstract background allows stronger impact and for the subject to be ‘alive’ on their own terms. The process of portraiture usually begins with a detailed sketch to decide upon composition and background. Once the sketch is approved we move onto the final art work which develops over a series of sittings until the artist and client are completely happy with the result.
The majority of work is produced through sittings but there may be times when photographs are required such as with young children who understandably will not sit through lengthy sessions.
