I live in Herefordshire, having emigrated from rural area East of Pretoria – South Africa where I had my formal education to the age of 13, continued at Hereford Cathedral School here in the U.K to include sixth form. Following that with a years foundation course in Worcester and on to University in Cheltenham. Having begun to develop my portrait painting as a way to subsidise my course I left university with a business ready to follow.
My work is often based on my activities, horse riding and my passion for kayaking and a general desire to be in the outdoors. Having been surrounded by animals all my life I feel that my understanding of them lends a large part to the success of the portraits I am commissioned to work on.
People portraits have a particular fascination, especially when working from life.
